On February 19, 2026, the Institute of Computer Science was visited by the President of the Czech Academy of Sciences, Prof. RNDr. Radomír Pánek, Ph.D., together with the Vice-Presidents and members of the Academy Council Presidium, Ing. Miroslava Anděrová, CSc., and Ing. Ilona Müllerová, DrSc.

The event began with a discussion with the Institute's management, during which the ICS director Petr Cintula summarized the Institute's recent successes, presented its strategic direction and visions for further development in light of the recent evaluation of the CAS institutes. Prof. Pánek then met with the scientific community and administrative support staff of the Institute to familiarize them with the current priorities of the Czech Academy of Sciences, its strategic goals, and the challenges that await the Academy in the coming years. He also praised the quality of the Institute's scientific work and its contribution to the development of the field of computer science. This was followed by short presentations of current research activities and projects across the Institute's departments, with a focus on young researchers and promising new projects. The visit ended with a tour of the Institute's building, focusing on infrastructure development priorities.
