AI is rapidly transforming education and testing. Using language proficiency assessment as a case study, Alina von Davier will explore how machine learning and generative AI enable more adaptive and scalable measurements of complex human skills. Crucially, the talk will also address why human governance, scientific rigor, and ethical oversight remain essential in an AI-driven world.
Alina A. von Davier is a pioneer in computational psychometrics with over 20 years of experience. At Duolingo, she leads the research and development behind the Duolingo English Test, blending AI, machine learning, and data mining to evaluate cognitive and social skills.
