David Černý from the Department of Artificial Intelligence received the medal awarded by the Czech Academy of Sciences for popularisation of science.

David Černý is a researcher at the ICS, as well as at the Institute of State and Law of the CAS and his work focuses primarily on the ethical dimensions of robotics and artificial intelligence. He is also an internal member of the Karel Čapek Centre for Values in Science and Technology.
He was awarded the medal for his long-standing and systematic efforts in the popularisation of scientific knowledge. David Černý is a regular guest on Czech Television and Czech Radio; he actively participates in public lectures and debates and, in addition to his professional publications, contributes to newspapers and magazines, where he presents complex philosophical and ethical dilemmas to the general public.
