Principal Investigator: Prof. PhDr. Lenka Vaňková, Dr.
ICS Coinvestigator: Mgr. Igor Sedlár, Ph.D.
The project responds to research challenges in key areas of the dynamically evolving field of digital technologies in the area of artificial intelligence and its interconnection with humanities and social sciences. The objective of this research is life cycle of fake news from the moment of its creation to its real impact on the society with focus on using artificial intelligence in its detection. The outcome will be a better understanding of how fake news emerges, what characteristics it has, what specifics it has in the Czech environment, how it can be detected using artificial intelligence, what impact it has on the credibility and psyche of individuals, and how it can be resisted in the case of selected social communities.
Selected topic is topical and related to the global development of artificial intelligence tools, large language models and machine learning. At the same time, however, the project also responds to the fact that previous international research has primarily been conducted using English language sources, which complicates the ability of AI to detect fake news in non-English speaking environments. This topic was also selected based on its topicality and the possibility to follow up on current international scientific discourse.
Project registration number: CZ.02.01.01/00/23_025/0008724.
This project is co-funded by the EU.
